Ford Motor Company received five Diversity Volume Leadership (DVL) Awards at a ceremony held in Detroit this week sponsored by the National Association of Minority Automobile Dealers and IHS Markit.
The DVL Awards are designed to recognize brands that lead the industry in marketing to women, ethnic minorities, ethnic millennials and members of the LGBT community. Ford received five awards this year – up from three last year – reflecting a renewed emphasis from the company’s Marketing and Sales team to concentrate resources on diverse growth audiences.
F-Series garnered the most awards for Ford as Top Ethnic Millennial Vehicle, Top LGBT Vehicle and Top Ethnic Volume Leader in the Rocky Mountain and Southwest regions of the U.S.
Winners of the DVL awards demonstrated the highest new vehicle registrations with ethnic, women, millennial and LGBT consumers. This year’s awards were based on an analysis of data from IHS Markit of more than 13 million personal new vehicle registrations for the 2018 model year (October 2017 through September 2018).
