Lexus Performance Driving School Teaches High-Performance Skills
Indianapolis, Daytona, Monticello and Monterey to play host, Scott Pruett set as instructor

If you’ve ever wanted to experience the complete exhilaration of driving a powerful Lexus on an iconic track, your opportunity is coming. Lexus has announced dates and locations for four Lexus Performance Driving School events. At these events, drivers can spend a day learning from Scott Pruett, a veteran sports car driver and Lexus brand ambassador.

Lexus Performance Driving School kicks off Sept. 14-15 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. From there it moves to Daytona International Speedway from Sept. 21-22, Monticello Motor Club in New York from Nov. 2-3 and wraps up at Monterey Peninsula in California from Jan. 25-27. Classes accommodate skill levels ranging from beginner to advanced, while Pruett and his team provide hands-on opportunities behind the wheel of Lexus vehicles, including the LC 500, GS F and RC F.

Pruett will offer valuable driving insights and strategies as well as his perspective to refine confidence and performance behind the wheel. The day’s events at Lexus Performance Driving School includes Chalk Talk, where Pruett will share with his students the essentials of safe and effective performance on the track; Advanced Driving Theory, where he will build upon those lessons to sharpen their understanding; and Up Close with Scott Pruett, where each participant will share a personal ride-along with the man himself.

These lessons are then put into practice in a skid pad drill, two lead-follow sessions and a line technique module. Everything comes together in a timed autocross where participants will compete to see who can post the best time, and the day wraps up with a hot lap with professional drivers at the wheel.

Pruett is a natural choice to lead the 2018 Lexus Performance Driving School given his long history of successes with Lexus. He drove Lexus-powered prototypes in the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Championship Series from 2004 to 2007, earning three driver championships and winning the Rolex 24 at Daytona in 2007. His involvement with Lexus extends beyond the track, as Pruett was integral in the development and marketing of both the Lexus LFA supercar and Lexus IS F performance sedan.
