XC60 Named Cars.com Best Luxury Compact SUV of the Year
Volvo XC60 earns high praise from Cars.com with SUV of the Year title

The Volvo XC60 epitomizes luxury in a compact package. Its stylish exterior, impeccable interior, advanced technologies, undeniable value and quality ride have garnered not one, not two, but three significant accolades. As the 2018 North American Utility of the Year, 2018 World Car of the Year, and now as Cars.com’s Best Luxury Compact SUV of 2018, the XC60 is a formidable leader in the luxury class.

“The Volvo XC60 has a true luxury feel, with all the features and interior materials you would expect,” said Jenni Newman, Cars.com’s editor-in-chief. “Its winning combination of comprehensive technology, practicality and quality, combined with safety features and value, are what propelled it to the top spot.”

Cars.com evaluated the competing luxury vehicles based on each model’s panic-braking distances, driver-assistance features, car seat accommodations and fuel costs as well as value, in-cabin storage, cabin comfort, convenience features, ride quality, cargo space, infotainment options, performance, acceleration and visibility.

The 2018 Volvo XC60, which bested the 2018 Audi Q5, Infiniti QX50, Cadillac XT5, Alfa Romeo Stelvio, BMW X3 and Lexus NX 300 in Cars.com’s rankings, is available at three trim levels — Momentum, R-Design and Inscription. It features a choice of three engines expertly paired to an eight-speed Geartronic™ automatic transmission. The 2.0-liter in-line four-cylinder turbocharged engine (T5) churns out 250 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. The 2.0-liter in-line four-cylinder supercharged engine (T6) puts out 316 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. The 2.0-liter in-line four-cylinder supercharged engine with 87 horsepower electric motor (T8 plug-in hybrid) generates 400 horsepower and 472 lb-ft of torque.

“Everyone at Volvo are so proud to accept this award from the experts at Cars.com,” said Anders Gustafsson, President and CEO of Volvo Car USA. “The XC60 really gives luxury SUV shoppers a unique alternative to the usual players, and one they can be confident in.”

Interior design

The sophisticated interior of the 2018 Volvo XC60 boasts high-end accents such as leather seating, a leather gearshift knob, available heated front seats and steering wheel, available power seats with ventilation and massage and a standard laminated panoramic moonroof equipped with a power sunshade. Refined comfort is a key component in the cabin of this compact SUV.

You’ll never lose your way with the XC60’s available Sensus Navigation. Staying connected on the go is effortless thanks to standard smartphone integration and the 9-inch Sensus Touchscreen. The available 1100-watt Bowers & Wilkins Sound System delivers crystal clear sound through 15 high-fidelity speakers.

Equipped with standard City Safety auto-braking, the 2018 XC60 also features available driver assist technologies such as Pilot Assist, Blind Spot Information System™ and a 360° Camera (part of the Advanced Package). Remote engine start and additional remote controls like heating, cooling, unlocking and locking your doors, calling for assistance and tracking the location of your car is possible via Volvo On Call services.

The 2018 Volvo XC60 delivers luxury, on all levels, to the modern driver.
