BMW is taking another step toward improving the in-vehicle experience with the launch of the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant. The new proprietary artificial intelligence listens for the prompt “Hey BMW” and responds in several ways, whether it’s navigating to a destination, changing your music or adjusting your settings.
“BMW’s Intelligent Personal Assistant combines with the new BMW Operating System 7.0 to create a brand-new, digital form of interaction with your BMW that redefines the whole driving experience,” says Senior Vice President Digital Products BMW Group Dieter May.
BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant is equipped with natural voice control and with functions like Point of Interest Search and Weather. It will be able to explain vehicle functions, provide diagnostic information and offer reminders about upcoming appointments. Going further, it will remember your preferred settings and can even adjust the environment in your BMW to make you feel more alert if you say that you are feeling tired.
BMW’s Intelligent Personal Assistant will become an integral part of the daily driving experience. Whether it’s assisting with navigation, vehicle diagnostics, or a recommendation for a good Chinese restaurant, the Intelligent Personal Assistant is sure to make your drive more convenient. What’s more, it will be compatible with other digital voice assistants, allowing you to create a functioning ecosystem of information.
Intelligent Personal Assistant will debut on the all-new 3 Series with Live Cockpit Professional featuring the iDrive 7.0 Operating System.
