It's been a rough season for the Grizzlies and their fans this year. With Golden State running away with the championship this year, it's time to look towards the future.
Thanks to a 22-60, the Grizzlies finished with the second worst record in the league. With the results of the lottery, the Grizzlies had the 4th pick in the draft. They used that pick on 6'11' forward Jaren Jackson Jr. They also will still have Mike Conley and Marc Gasol, who were key parts of last years playoff team. If Conley can stay healthy and Gasol looks like his old self, there is no reason to believe that the Grizz can't be back in the playoffs next year.
That's not to say it is all sunshine and roses. With the team taking a big in the draft, does that mean Gasol and his veteran leadership will not be around next year? Will Chandler Parsons and Tyreke Evans be back next year? We will have to wait and see.
What did you think of the choice the Grizzlies made with their first round pick?
