We just wrapped up Power of Community week – and it was a dandy! Between planting trees, having fun at assisted living homes, helping at Park & Recreation departments, preparing and serving lunch with the Salvation Army, helping and reading in classrooms, volunteering at 1000 Islands, and giving away thousands of dollars of gas – we had so much fun getting out and making an impact in our communities! We can’t wait until next year!
So how did this all come about? This was just the second year of Power of Community week. It was the brainstorm of the Wisconsin Bankers Association, and it’s something that happens all over Wisconsin. It gives smaller community banks the opportunity to be part of a larger movement throughout our state.
We all promote it on social media, we all wear our special t-shirts, we talk about it on local news stations, and we just have fun doing the things we would normally do in our community – just all in one week!
We can’t wait to start planning for next year! But in the meantime, you’ll see us all over this summer – parades, Catfish Races, you name it – we’ll be there!
