The best-seller gets even better for 2017

The Honda CR-V is celebrating its 20th birthday in style with the introduction of an all-new model for 2017. In addition to its bold, new looks, the 2017 Honda CR-V adds more technology, a larger interior and the CR-V’s first-ever turbocharged engine with more power and best-in-class efficiency.

The 2017 Honda CR-V has an imposing presence with an attractive face that includes LED daytime running lights, available LED headlights and a dynamic front grille. The rear of the 2017 Honda CR-V features an upscale look with horizontal taillights tied together with a thick chrome garnish. Additionally, the CR-V comes with new wheel designs.

Inside, the 2017 Honda CR-V brings even more appeal to the compact crossover segment with a premium interior that features more space for passengers and cargo. The 2017 Honda CR-V boasts best-in-class rear-seat legroom, but it’s more than just a roomy cabin. Honda incorporated plenty of luxury and technology into the 2017 Honda CR-V, such as the newly available Display Audio featuring Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ compatibility, color TFT driver information interface center meter display, soft-touch instrument panel and the innovative Hands-Free Access Power Tailgate, which allows foot-activated opening and closing of the tailgate.

The 2017 Honda CR-V is available in four trim levels (LX, EX, EX-L and Touring) with prices starting at $24,045, and AWD is available as an option. The LX trim comes standard with automatic climate control, a tilt and telescoping steering wheel and a 160-watt audio system that is Bluetooth® and Pandora® capable. Stepping up to the other trims gets you features including  Smart Entry doors, a power moonroof, leather seats, Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay® connectivity and the Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System™.

Another key distinction between the trim levels is the engine. The 2017 Honda CR-V LX is powered by a 2.4-liter direct-injected inline four-cylinder rated at 184 hp and 180 lb/ft of torque with EPA-rated fuel economy estimates of up to 26 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway. Marking the first-ever use of a turbocharged engine on the CR-V, all other trim levels of the 2017 Honda CR-V are equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged and direct-injected inline four-cylinder returning comparable power as the other engine with 190 hp and 179 lb/ft of torque but getting improved efficiency with EPA-rated fuel economy estimates of up to 28 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway. Both engines are mated to a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) with Honda G-Design shift logic.

In terms of safety, the 2017 Honda CR-V builds on a vehicle that was already one of the safest crossovers on the market with a 2016 Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The available Honda Sensing™ suite of advanced safety and driver-assistive technologies includes Collision Mitigation Braking with Forward Collision Warning, Road Departure Mitigation with Lane Departure Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control with Low Speed Follow and Lane Keeping Assist. Finally, the 2017 Honda CR-V also gets new available safety technologies such as Auto High Beam headlights, Blind Spot Information and Cross Traffic Monitor.

With an all-new design, the 2017 Honda CR-V is better than its predecessor, and that’s saying something. But in order to remain a leader in the ever-popular and always-growing compact crossover segment, Honda knows that the best way to stay in front is to lead by example. After 30 years, the American-made Honda CR-V is still one of the best and most-reliable family vehicles on the market. Stop by today to find out more.
