The Dodge Journey is a real jack of all trades with the versatility and utility you demand in a crossover paired with the style, technology and value you expect from Dodge.
Dodge likes to call the Journey the Swiss army knife of crossovers because it gives buyers the choice to build their Journey exactly how they see fit. The 2017 model adds a new GT trim, exterior enhancements to the Crossroad trim and two new exterior paint colors (Rhino Clear Coat and Spitfire Orange Clear Coat) for a total of 10 choices.
The new Journey GT model sits at the top of the Journey lineup, replacing the R/T model. Shoppers can also choose from four other trim levels, including SE, SXT, Crossroad and Crossroad Plus. Standard features for the new GT include 19-inch wheels, a 368-watt audio system, red accent stitched leather upholstery and a heated steering wheel. The Crossroad benefits from a new Satin Carbon wheel finish.
The 2017 Dodge Journey (MSRP from $21,145) also holds the distinction of being the most affordable and powerful three-row midsize crossover with an MSRP of under $30,000. The available 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine makes 283 hp and 260 lb/ft of torque through a six-speed automatic transmission. The standard engine is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 173 hp and 166 lb/ft of torque; this engine is paired to a four-speed automatic gearbox. Fuel estimates are rated up to 26 mpg on the highway, providing drivers up to 500 miles per tank. The GT model also adds a high-performance suspension for improved driving manners. All trim levels are available with an all-wheel-drive system that not only helps you keep control in poor driving conditions, but also enhances handling in dry conditions.
Whether youre looking for seating for five or seven, the Journey has plenty of smart features to make your life easier and more convenient. The second-row seats can recline, and you can even add class-exclusive booster seats to them. The rear seats can fold flat, and the available front passenger Flip n Stow™ in-seat storage helps you maximize cargo capacity to a total of 67.6 cubic feet.
Technology, connectivity and comfort are a major piece of the car buying puzzle. The Journey stays relevant with the Uconnect® 8.4 system that includes the largest touchscreen in the segment, as well as other standout features like a heated steering wheel, Navigation system with Voice Command, three-zone automatic temperature control and leather upholstery with heated front seats.
The Journey is a bold crossover with aggressive lines. The Dodge split crosshair grille serves as the highlight of the front fascia. Sunscreen glass and automatic headlights are standard; additional features, such as fog lamps, heated exterior mirrors, chrome side rails and wheels ranging from 17- to 19-inches, vary by trim level. A Blacktop Package is also available, adding even more attitude with gloss black trim on the grille, exterior mirrors and 19-inch wheels.
Safety is guaranteed through more than 40 available features. All models come standard with a full suite of airbags, Electronic Stability Control, All-Speed Traction Control, Trailer-Sway Control and antilock brakes with Brake Assist. These features and more helped the Journey earn a 5-Star Side Crash rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Other available safety features include the ParkView® rear backup camera and ParkSense® rear park assist.
