The most capable small utility gets even better

The Jeep® Renegade is small in stature but big on capability and the 2017 model adds even more enhancements both inside and out.

Jeep debuted two new limited-edition Renegade models at the Los Angeles Auto Show-the Deserthawk and Altitude. More specifics about these models will be available in the coming months. Other enhancements for the new model year are Keyless Go that's now standard on all trim levels and the availability of HID headlamps with automatic high-beam. Passive entry is also standard on Limited models.

The 2017 Jeep Renegade (MSRP $17,995) is available in four models--Sport, Latitude, Limited and Trailhawk®--and was recently named the Subcompact SUV Best Buy for the second consecutive year by Consumer Guide® Automotive.

The Renegade comes with two available engine options, each of which achieves over 30 mpg on the highway. The turbocharged 1.4-liter MultiAir® four-cylinder engine boasts 160 hp and 184 lb/ft of torque and is mated to a six-speed manual transmission. The available 2.4-liter Tigershark® MultiAir® 2 engine is paired to an advanced nine-speed automatic transmission, and is good for 180 hp and 175 lb/ft of torque. With this engine, you also get a 2,000-pound towing capacity rating. You can also opt for one of two available four-wheel-drive systems. The Jeep Active Drive system is the perfect foul weather companion and uses a rear axle disconnect to switch between two- and four-wheel drive for the best possible fuel economy. The Jeep Active Drive Low system is exclusive to the Trailhawk model, offering best-in-class capability (along with a Trail Rated® designation) and a 20:1 crawl ratio. Both systems incorporate the Selec-Terrain® system to maximize performance in all conditions.

The 2017 Jeep Renegade is available with your choice of 10 exterior colors and four interior color schemes, so you can easily express your personality. All Renegade models stand out with their fresh styling, and you can choose the segment-exclusive "My Sky" panoramic roof system for an open-air experience. High Intensity Discharge headlights, foglamps and heated exterior mirrors are also available. Inside, the cabin keeps you comfortable and connected. You can add leather upholstery, a seven-inch color thin-film-transistor, Uconnect® 6.5 system with navigation, dual-zone automatic temperature control, heated front seats and a heated steering wheel. Audiophiles will appreciate the nine-speaker BeatsAudio™ audio system. Cargo capacity is rated up to 18.5 cubic feet behind the rear seats and an impressive 50.8 with the rear seats folded.

The Renegade is equipped with close to 70 available safety and security features, starting with seven standard airbags, Electronic Stability Control and All-Speed Traction Control. You can also add Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking, Blind Spot Monitoring System, Rear Cross Path detection system and LaneSense Departure Warning-Plus with Lane Keep Assist.
