As a luxury compact SUV, the 2017 Buick Encore packs a lot of utility into a small frame. With exceptional performance, impressive fuel economy and well-designed passenger and storage space, you can make the most out of every inch of the Encore.
Two levels of performance
Across its six trim levels, the 2017 Buick Encore offers two levels of performance for drivers to pick from. At the standard level is a 1.4-liter ECOTEC® turbocharged four-cylinder engine. This engine, paired to a six-speed automatic transmission, earns 138 horsepower and 148 lb-ft of torque.
For upgraded performance and efficiency, drivers can upgrade to a 1.4-liter SIDI Turbo engine with start-stop technology, starting with the Sport Touring. This engine produces 153 horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque. The base trim is equipped exclusively with front-wheel drive, but every other trim level is available with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive configurations.
Maximized interior space
As a compact luxury SUV, the Buick Encore offers plenty of space in a condensed frame. Drivers can expect ample interior space while maintaining the maneuverability of a smaller vehicle. The Encore offers seating for up to five passengers with a rear 60/40 split-bench seat for up to 48.4 cubic feet of cargo space. Organizing belongings with the available rear cargo net and cargo tray helps keep everything neat and tidy.
As expected, the 2017 Encore’s efficiency depends on the powertrain combination you choose. With the standard ECOTEC® engine, drivers can expect an estimated 25 mpg in the city, 33 mpg on the highway and 28 mpg combined.* With the upgraded SIDI Turbo engine, the Encore earns an even more impressive 27 mpg in the city, 33 mpg on the highway and 30 mpg combined.*
Capability and utility come standard on the 2017 Buick Encore, making it easier than ever to get everything you need in a sleek, compact vehicle.
