Youth Encounter Team Commissioning 2004-05
Eighty-Nine Servants Sent Out to Follow God's Call
by Youth Encounter

“The primary mission of the Church is to proclaim the good news that God forgives our sins and reconciles us to himself through the death and resurrection of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. As a member of a Youth Encounter National Band or International Team, you serve as an ambassador of Jesus Christ.”

~Larry D. Johnson, President of Youth Encounter

On September 17, 2004, a few hundred friends of Youth Encounter gathered at Roseville Lutheran Church in Roseville, Minnesota to support the 2004-05 National Bands and International Teams as they were commissioned for their year of ministry.

Shawn Smith is a Christian who is driven by an exciting mission: To share the Good News of God's grace in Christ through music, humor, personal stories of faith and, perhaps most importantly, in his everyday walk with the Lord. Shawn is a Child of God, and a full-time performing songwriter and keynote speaker. Shawn performs over 100 concerts and keynote talks per year at churches, youth gatherings, camps, and conferences all over the country.
