“Hey ya'll. The
terrible thing about being in Captive Free is that we as a band never get to
see the fruit that God reaps from the seeds that we plant. But, a gift from God
to both parties, tonight, after our concert, a young person from the crowd came
up and revealed that we had truly prepared a place for God to come into our
presence through the worship this evening. This girl said that we had helped
her realize how close God really is to everyone. She told us about the very
hard time she'd been going through and allowed some of us to pray with her. It
was an incredible experience for us as well as for her. We are so blessed by
God to be able to help change lives out here. It also gave me some closure that
I was being used by God and that He would always be using me, even if I never
get to see how. I hope and pray that God continues to reveal His closeness to
that person.
We are really
excited about the next few weeks. The Cleveland Quake is this weekend, followed
by the Toledo Quake next weekend, and finally, the Cincinnati Congress after
that. Then Event season is done! I'll sure miss it. But I know that God is
unchanging in his plan of changing people's lives, and I'm glad that he is
using us.”

“What an amazing weekend! We just spent the past weekend
in Lansing, Michigan with 700 Junior High youth for our second Youth Quake of
our tour! It was such an amazing experience, as we struck our first note of the
weekend I could feel the excitement of everyone in the room mounting. We were
all together for a weekend of fun, fellowship, and a chance to learn more about
our faith in Jesus Christ. I loved the chance to be able to hang out with
everyone there and share with them my experiences as well as hearing about
theirs.
One of the
coolest highlights of the weekend was leading the "New Creation"
Bible Study Trek (basically a mini 50-minute workshop). We set out six objects
including toilet paper, a hanger, a box of Kleenex, and a shoe. We asked the
youth in the room to "reconcile" the objects without having told them
what reconcile means. At first we got blank faces and stares, but it was neat
to see their brains turning and them working in groups of strangers knew to
determine what they could do with the objects. As we explored the Bible study
more in depth we got some very insightful answers to our questions. I loved
seeing the seeds of faith and learning coming out in the youth!
If you are
wondering yourself what reconciliation means, I encourage you to check out 2
Corinthians 5:14 – 21!
