“Seeing is believing. I
always knew that there are Christians all over the world, but it showed me how
much God loves us when I saw all people dancing and singing with smiles on
their faces.”
Melinda Hepner (Chicago, IL), Guatemala Crew 2002
Side By Side Global Work
Crew is a summer ministry opportunity for young people (15 yrs+) to serve on a
mission trip overseas. Crews are trained/debriefed in Minneapolis, Minnesota
for about three days before/after their time overseas. There are at least four
different tours to four different countries every year. It is an awesome opportunity for
individuals, youth groups and adult counselors, as the mission of Side By Side
Global Work Crews encourages all to build relationships founded in God’s love
forged in the experience of cross-cultural living, working, and worshiping
“side by side” with overseas hosts.
While overseas, Crew
members have an opportunity to work on a selected project (building,
rebuilding, painting, remodeling, etc.) alongside their local hosts. They also
have a great opportunity to share their faith while working, experiencing
fellowship, studying the Bible and living together. It is such a unique way of
sharing and learning each other’s culture.
This coming summer (2003),
Crews will tour Tanzania, Kenya (June 20-July 18) and India, Ecuador (July
11-August 8). The program fee is $3,200 per person for the Tanzania, Kenya, and
India tours, or $2,800 per person for the Ecuador tour. Spots on every tour are
on a “first come” basis, so be encouraged to sign up early for more choices.
