Blessings and Struggles
by Heidi Evanson

Team life…what can I say? It's something that is not like anything else. Everyday is different, and not just what you eat or what you encounter, but everything. Everyday has its blessings and new struggles. When we do a program at schools, a lot of the time we have a question and answer period for the kids and they always like to ask the question, “Do you fight????” Well, my answer is always, “No not exactly.” We do have our disagreements as a team and yes, sometimes they go on for a few days, but we have never actually fought. I think the difference between us a Christian team is that even when we do disagree on one particular thing, we agree on the bigger picture. Our team has a mission and a goal, and our main point is to serve God to the best of our ability. So when I disagree with someone, I try to think, “Am I being selfish or is this what God wants?” This has been a hard lesson for me, especially because I like to be in control. But since I’ve joined this team, I try to think about what would glorify God.
