Ask Liz
I'm picking up ALL of my co-worker's slack. What do I do?
Dear Liz, I have just taken on the third large new project this month, and in all three cases there was someone in our group who didn’t hold up her end. I don’t mind taking on the extra work, but I don’t see the slacker being disciplined or even spoken to about the problem. It feels pretty irresponsible to make one person pick up the load for another person who can’t get her work done. What is your opinion and how should I approach my manager about this? D’niece

Attention: Male Bashers Meet Here
Pinch Me...or Don't
While attending a business association meeting, I was seated at a table of professional women for lunch when a gentleman asked if a seat at our table was taken. However, he didn't didn't stop there. He then asked if he was joining a group of male bashers. Since this was 11:30 am I replied, "You're in luck. You just missed the 10:00 am to 11:00 am Male Bashing Session of the agenda. Please join us." -Susan, ArchWIT
Have you experienced something that made you think, "Did that really happen? Did s/he really say that?" Send your true Pinch Me...or Don't story to Anne Jennings.

Giving in the Workplace
WorldWIT recently asked workplace managers among its 50,000 members, “Do you plan to give a gift to your employees this holiday?” Only one third of these managers said ‘yes’. Yet, nearly 20% of all the professional women surveyed said that they feel pressure to give a gift to their boss around the holidays. WorldWIT's comprehensive survey also concludes that more than half of those surveyed say that they will be giving a gift to a peer this holiday season.

Now Here's an Idea
Have you ever listened attentively while a co-worker obviously repackaged an idea of yours as hers? "Our modern, knowledge-economy positions require a tremendous amount of intellectual effort and what organizational-behavior types call 'ego involvement.' In other words, we own our jobs, and that's a good thing. And when we have good ideas, we like to—and deserve to—get credit for them." Liz Ryan, WorldWIT CEO and Founder, offers advice on how to prevent and thwart these maneuvers in her article for BusinessWeek Online.
