Watch Liz Ryan's Web Seminar on Social Networking!
We were thrilled to see that so many WorldWIT members participated in ReadyTalk's web seminar on social networking! The web seminar, Social Networking: Business Relationships Built Here, featured Liz Ryan, who discussed creating your online persona, social networking vehicles such as LinkedIn and WorldWIT, online networking etiquette and more. The event generated so much interest that it reached maximum capacity! We are sorry that a number of you were not able to participate as a result. If you missed the live event, you can view the web seminar anytime online. Find it at http://tinyurl.com/kztza.

The Bathroom Break
Pinch Me...or Don't
I worked for the president of a small warehousing and logistics company for several years. I was hired to perform as a Human Resources Manager, with side duties as Executive Assistant to the president. Once when I told him I had to leave because my daughter was ill, he asked: “Why can't your husband take off work to go take care of her?” But I knew it was time to look for a new job when I got my annual review and he spent one paragraph noting my exceptional skills when performing as a Human Resources Manager, but then wrote a page and a half about how I should pay more attention to his personal needs such as bringing him water for his desk each morning, running errands for him, and noting that I shouldn’t leave my office for more than five minutes in case there were phone calls coming in. The last week I was there, he actually pounded on the bathroom door for me to come answer his telephone! -Dawn, CapitolWIT
