You Gotta Problem With That?
Pinch Me... or Don't!
My incident took place when I had a position with a Corporate Research and Development organization of a fortune 500 company. My role was akin to an internal account manager; I interacted with the engineers and scientists at the R&D center and our division marketing and engineering managers in our numerous divisions to determine how technology could provide competitive advantage to the product lines. I had a BS in Engineering, an MBA, and 6 years of experience at another fortune 500 company. About one year into my new role, the Director of the R&D center paid me a visit. I was disagreeing with a senior engineer with how he was "servicing" one of our divisions. The Director sat down in my office and started the conversation with...."The problem here is that you are a woman." -G.S.
