I bet you woke up this morning pondering such questions as “What’s the deal with Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes this week?” and “How is Britney and Kevin’s baby doing?” You didn’t? Good for you. Me neither. I was just checking to see if you did! Even if we don’t care about Hollywood drama, there are times when work, taking care of the kids or studying can become monotonous and we need a break. Lucky for us the Internet offers plenty of Web sites to distract and amuse us. Here are just a few of my personal favorites:
1) Pink Is the New Blog (pinkisthenewblog.com)
This is by far my favorite Web Site full of celebrity gossip, pictures and snarky commentary. Make sure to check back often as the Detroit-area's Trent Vanegas updates his blog daily!
2) TVGasm (tvgasm.com)
If you are a closet fan of reality TV like I am (oops- guess the secret is out), then this is the site for you. Not only do the witty TVgasm bloggers offer sassy and sarcastic recaps of reality shows, they also write about hit shows like “Desperate Housewives,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Lost,” “Prison Break,” and more.
3) Gizoogle (gizoogle.com)
Want a good laugh? Check out Gizoogle.com. It’s a web search engine that translates searches and web pages into slang that might make your grandmother blush. Our Corporate Relations Manager, Kedra Hood, pointed this site out to me.
4) Awful Plastic Surgery (awfulplasticsurgery.com)
WorldWIT founder Liz Ryan introduced this Web site to me. If you want to check out some suspicious looking before and after pictures of celebs who may or may not have had some work done, take a peek. Be warned, there is some fugly looking stuff in there.
And for good old fashioned news…
5) Yahoo! News (news.yahoo.com)
Here you can find news on world affairs, sports, entertainment, health and more.
I hope I was successful in introducing you to a few sites you may have missed before. If nothing else, you can sleep well tonight knowing that TomKat have been seen out and about together and that Spederline’s baby, Sean Preston, is doing just fine! You can thank me later.
Lauren Calkins is ashamed to admit that she watches reality television shows and wishes to inform her mother that she does not endorse any foul language that may be found on any of the above Web sites. Oh, and she is Editor of Thinking Aloud (not to mention adored by her co-workers).
