Our ever popular Frisch Riesling and our brand-new Frisch Spring Song Blend are a stunning variety of fresh and new white varietals begging to be tried. Add to that three hot Nouveau Muse reds: our Syrah, Petite Sirah and Tempranillo. Cap it off with the return of a favorite, our Nouveau Muse Rosato – a lightly sweet rosé perfect for Spring  – and you'll see our new arrivals have something for everyone.

Nouveau Muse 2010 California Syrah
This 2010 Nouveau Muse California Syrah has a deep violet color, almost black. The nose has a lot of black pepper, cloves and licorice. There are light red fruit characteristics like black currant and a hint of vanilla. The mouthfeel is chewy and harmonious. Tannins and the light red fruit characters are well married. This wine has a medium body with an ageing capability of at least 4 years. Spices in the wine open the field for many great pairings such as pasta dishes with sauces, chicken or marinated pork and cheddar cheese. Or try the featured recipe of Basil Garlic Tortellini, this dish highlights the spices and flavors in the wine perfectly.

Our 2011 Frisch Monterey County Riesling displays floral and fruity aromas of rose, pineapple, lychee and mango. The flavors are smooth, complex, refreshing and sweet with a pleasing weight on the palate. This great structure in the mouth comes from the varietal itself with roundness and creaminess almost like a dessert. Enjoy within the next couple of years with a delicate grilled fish, Chinese food or a cheddar cheese. Or try the featured recipe of Mediterranean Beefy Basil Roll-Ups, for a great contrast of flavors.

This 2010 Nouveau Muse California Petite Sirah has a nice, deep burgundy robe. The nose gives out many meaty and smoky notes. Black currant and blackberry flavors are also revealing themselves in the background. The mouth is lush and complex. The tannins are present but not overpowering which makes this wine ready to drink now or able to age 3 to 4 years. Enjoy this with grilled steak, chicken, pork or medium strength cheeses. Or try the featured recipe of Grilled Sweet & Smoky Steak, where the meaty and smoky flavors of this wine make it an ideal candidate for pairing along with a spring or summer barbecue.

Frisch 2011 Spring Song Blend
Our 2011 Spring Song Blend is a great wine for the season. It has light floral and tropical fruit aromas: acacia (pronounced a-KAY-sha), honeysuckle and lily. The flavors are refreshing with a medium weight on the palate. This wine has clean straight lines with nice citrus, apple and apricot flavors in the finish. Enjoy this wine in the next year with your favorite dishes. These delicate flavors will pair very well with many turkey, chicken or pork dishes. A local mild farm cheese will also be a good choice. Or try the featured recipe of Southwest Chicken Burger, where the chicken, herbs and caramelized onions will tie in well with this wine..

This 2010 Nouveau Muse California Tempranillo is a great example for this varietal with several layers of flavors in the nose: red fruits, raspberry, watermelon, leather and earthy notes later on. The mouth is well structured and balanced between tannins from the oak barrels and the natural acidity of the grapes. This wine provides a medium to long finish. This wine will age well for three to four years and goes well with a quick grilled meat like pork chops, a plate of medium strength cheeses or a cioppino. Or try the featured recipe of Steak Stir-Fry, this flavor-packed steak recipe will showcase the fruity and earthy qualities found in the wine.

The flavors are smooth, refreshing and sweet with a pleasing weight on the palate. This wine is mouthwatering, well balanced and packed with flavor. The structure comes from the Cabernet and the Chardonnay. The roundness and creaminess belongs to the Viognier and Muscat. The finish has clean lines with a medium length with soft acidity. Enjoy within the next couple of years with a delicate grilled fish, summer grilled meat, most Chinese, Thai and Greek dishes or a mild cheese. Or try the featured recipe of Citrus Salmon with Orange Relish, this recipe using a citrus relish will marry well some tropical fruit flavors found in the Viognier and the Muscat.
