He's is just a guy who won't say no, and the Pro Bono Project loves him! Edward C. Donnelly, Pro Bono Attorney of the Month for October 2000, finds time to take on every PBP case offered to him. He even accepted four cases within one two-month period last year! PBP clients in 18 states (including two he recently accepted) have benefitted from his representation, and he has devoted more that 200 hours to cases he has closed.
In one recent case, Donnelly's client was a somewhat brain-damaged women who had been a drug addict and, now truly turning her life around, wanted to reestablish visitation with her children. What was most gradifying about this case, he said, was his success not only in restoring his client's relationship with her children and negotiating other terms for her, but also doing this with the cooperation of opposing counsel, the law guardian, and the court. .....
Outside of his bar activities, he has been president of the Wantagh Chamber of Commerce since 1997 after having served on the organizations board during 1996-1997 and its legal counsel from 1993 to 1996. He has also been a board member of the Kiwanis Club od Wantagh since 1996 and named "Kiwanean of the Year" in 1997. For relaxation he playes guitar, reads, and goes to the movies....
