[FULL STORY]

Vehicle Profile: The 2012 Nissan 370Z®
Classic coupe offers performance with available top-down fun.

The 2012 Nissan 370Z is an eye-catching, classically styled sports car that offers exciting performance and the ability to drop the top to soak up the sun's rays.

Models

The Nissan 370Z comes in fixed-roof Coupe (MSRP $31,910) and soft-top Roadster (MSRP $40,050) body styles.

Power and Performance

All Nissan 370Z models except the NISMO Coupe are powered by a 332-hp 3.7-liter dual overhead cam V6 that produces 270 lb/ft of torque. Two advanced transmissions are offered – a seven-speed automatic with manual shift mode, paddleshifters and Downshift Rev Matching; and a close-ratio six-speed manual with available SynchroRev Match®, the world's first synchronized downshift rev matching manual transmission that controls and adjusts engine speed when shifting to the speed of the next gear position, essentially “blipping” the throttle to smooth out up/down shifts.

Estimated fuel economy for the 370Z Roadster is EPA-estimated at 19 mpg city and 26 mpg highway with the seven-speed automatic.

For the true performance fanatic, there is the Nissan NISMO 370Z Coupe – the most powerful production Z Coupe ever offered. For its use in the NISMO (NISsan MOtorsports) 370Z, the 3.7-liter VQ-series V6 produces 350 hp at 7,400 rpm and 276 lb/ft of torque at 5,200 rpm.

370Z Variety
The Nissan 370Z Coupe offers a variety of trim levels to help you find a car you can feel comfortable calling your own.

The 370Z comes standard with 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels, High Intensity Discharge (HID) Xenon headlights and Nissan Intelligent Key with push button ignition.

The 370Z with Sport Package brings enhanced handling and performance with a viscous limited-slip rear differential, front aero deflector and rear spoiler, as well as five-spoke 19-inch wheels and Nissan sport brakes. SynchroRev Match is part of the package on cars equipped with the six-speed manual.

The 370Z Touring adds leather-appointed seats, a Bose audio system, Bluetooth hands-free phone system, driver's adjustable lumbar support and aluminum pedals. A 370Z Touring with Sport Package adds the Sport equipment listed to the Touring standard features.

The Nissan 370Z Roadster is offered in 370Z, 370Z Touring and 370Z Touring with Sport Package.

The 370Z Roadster comes with a fully automatic convertible soft-top with glass window, rear glass wind deflector and a power-operated tonneau cover, in addition to features found on the Coupe. The top can also be operated from outside the car, when you are carrying the Nissan Intelligent Key, by pushing a button on the driver’s door.

The Roadster Touring with Sport Package takes all the comforts of the Coupe Touring trim level and adds Nissan sport brakes with vented disc brakes front and rear, as well as aluminum calipers; the viscous limited-slip differential; and SynchroRev Match (manual-equipped cars). The wheels are super-lightweight forged alloy and are wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza tires.

Safety and Security

Nissan has a long history of providing maximum protection in a small package like the Nissan 370Z, which comes with the Nissan Advanced Air Bag System with dual-stage supplemental front airbags with seatbelt and occupant-classification sensors. Other safety features include Vehicle Dynamic Control with Traction Control System, as well as active head restraints and an energy-absorbing steering column. The 370Z also comes with the Nissan vehicle immobilizer system and vehicle security system.

An Exhilarating Ride

Most often overlooked about the 370Z is how enjoyable it is as a daily driver. Sleek design, great safety features and strong performance combine to create a car that can be driven 365 days a year. Test drive the 2012 Nissan 370Z Coupe and Roadster models, and see which one is for you.
