Twilight Fans Win Big in Facebook Contests
World premiere tickets, Rio trip and a new S60 awarded.

Two passionate fans of The Twilight Saga got the experience of a lifetime by winning promotional contests for the latest installment of the film series on Volvo’s Facebook page.
 
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1, the fourth movie in the wildly popular vampire-themed series, made its highly anticipated debut on the big screen in November. Building off the excitement for the film’s release, Volvo launched two Twilight-themed contests through its Facebook page (www.facebook.com/VolvocarsUS) known as “What Would You Wear?” and “Journey to the Wedding.”
 
In “What Would You Wear?” fans were asked to upload a photo or drawing of the dream outfit they would wear if invited to Edward and Bella’s wedding. The photo that got the most votes for favorite outfit was submitted by Brandy Hogan, a medical transcriptionist from Latham, New York. She won two tickets to the world premiere of the film in Los Angeles. Together with her sister, Hogan enjoyed roundtrip airfare, hotel accommodations and $500 in spending money.
 
Her dream outfit consisted of a purple, one-shoulder ruffle dress with silver stilettos, purple drop earrings, a silver clutch and a diamond bracelet. She chose purple because it invokes romance, magic and mystery. The outfit was “exactly what she would wear” if invited to the wedding of the century.
 
She documented her experience at the premiere on the Volvo blog (www.volvoblog.us). In recognition of all the fans who voted for her, she wrote, “It is something I will cherish for the rest of my life and I wouldn’t have gone if it wasn’t for all of you…You made my dream come true and it was the most amazing thing I have ever experienced. This really meant the world to me, more than you’ll ever know and I can’t thank you enough.”
 
In “Journey to the Wedding,” fans had to make their way to the big wedding in an online interactive game. Jessica T., of State College, Pennsylvania, completed all three tasks in the least amount of time to win the grand prize of a trip for two to Rio de Janeiro, featuring accommodations at the very same house where Edward and Bella spent their unforgettable honeymoon. In addition to an amazing trip, Jessica also won a brand new 2012 Volvo S60 T6 R-Design, the same car that is featured in Breaking Dawn – Part 1.
 
Both of these emphatic Twilight fans had experiences they won’t forget anytime soon. Volvo turned their dreams into reality through two intriguing online contests. Social media is just one more example of how Volvo is reaching out to its growing fan base in new and exciting ways.
