Long-term Follow-up With the Use of Deep Brain Stimulation in the Treatment of Parkinson’s Disease
The arrow points to the subthalamic nucleus. The results of a recent study showed that stimulation of a part of the brain called the subthalamic nucleus improves functioning and quality of life in people with Parkinson’s disease and that these improvements are maintained for the long term.
