Flint, Michigan’s General Motors engine plant and the company’s processing center in Swartz Creek, Michigan, are getting upgraded. GM is increasing its renewable energy use with three acres of new solar arrays at the two facilities. A combined 400,000 kilowatt hours of renewable energy are expected to be generated to the facilities’ grids each year by the 150-kilowatt ground-mount solar arrays, enough energy to use at 25 homes annually.
