Announcing The Best Defense!
Rob Pincus will be a host/instructor on this new television show on Outdoor Channel.

Starting in January, Outdoor Channel will be airing an exciting new television show “The Best Defense”. Featuring Rob Pincus and Michael Janich as the co-hosts and instructors, The Best Defense will bring their practical approach to personal and home defense to the viewer through traditional and cutting edge methods. Host and Producer Michael Bane (Shooting Gallery, Cowboys) will guide the show through 13 episodes covering topics including home defense, counter car jacking concepts, basic unarmed defense, improvised weapons and low light tactics.

Pincus has appeared on several television programs in the past, including Shooting Gallery, Personal Defense TV, The Daily Show, The Shootin’ Show, World News Tonight and several local news programs and is the lead instructor and host of the Personal Defense Video DVD series. Janich has also appeared on numerous television programs in the past and has been the feature instructor on dozens of training videos, including two upcoming DVDs for the PDV series.

Pincus and Janich will be joined by other noted instructors and a cast of role-players as they teach directly to the viewers, coach live demonstrators and critique realistic scenarios throughout the shows to make important learning points that the viewer can use to better prepare themselves to be safe when confronted with danger.

Taping began in October at the U.S. Shooting Academy facility in Tulsa and continued at Blackwater Worldwide Headquarters in North Carolina. Taping in November will be done at the new Swanson Tactical Training Center in Utah at their new world class scenario training area.

When Michael Bane was tasked by Outdoor Channel to develop the best personal defense oriented show ever created, he went right to Pincus and Janich. Having worked with both of them in the past, Michael knew that they would be providing not just efficient techniques but also explaining them more thoroughly than had been done on TV in the past. “The emphasis on WHY, not just WHAT, is one of the things that will really set this show apart,” says Pincus.
