AT THE RACES
by "Hurricane" Bob Mina
Each month,
“Hurricane” Bob Mina joins us to preview a race or races scheduled to occur in
the Mid-Atlantic Region. This month, Bob previews the 2005 Greater
Atlantic Multisport Series.
Only one month to Spring – only one month to
Spring! Can you feel it? Can you feel it coming? Of course you can’t. It’s still a frozen wasteland out there –
that’s why they call this time of year February. I’m pretty sure there are Greek or Roman roots in the word
meaning, “Time of insufferable cold mixed with glimpses of the sun.” Regardless, there’s more of the winter
behind you as opposed to ahead, so let us move on and see what’s coming soon,
shall we?
One thing to look forward to: Coming back for a third season will be the Greater Atlantic
Multisport Series, brought to you by Neil Semmel’s Piranha Sports ( http://www.piranha-sports.com).
Expanding from previous years the series will now be made up of seven races
throughout the center of the Mid-Atlantic region for 2005 – including a new
Half-Ironman event!

KEEP IT FUN
by Steve Brown
I think sometimes, many of us have a tendency to get a little too wrapped up in racing and training and we forget that this stuff is supposed to be fun. In a time of advanced training tools and techniques, faster, lighter and better…. everything, it’s easy to get so focused on technology and performance that we forget to make sure the experiences are enjoyable.
