The 2003 HSBC Ironman USA Lake Placid triathlon was held in Lake Placid and the surrounding Adirondack region on Sunday, July 27, 2003. This year’s race featured monsoon-like conditions. Despite the daunting weather, Estonia’s Kirill Litovtsenko and Canada’s Heather Fuhr turned in impressive run times to capture the men’s and women’s titles.
