In an announcement that has the triathlon community reeling, World Triathlon Corporation, owner of the Ironman Triathlon, today announced that the Ironman Triathlon World Championship will adopt a draft-legal format in 2003. According to WTC officials, the change was made, in part, to draw more spectator and sponsor interest in the race which will be celebrating its 25th anniversary in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii this October.
