Tri-Columbia Medical Symposium: The Endurance Athlete

This year, the famed Columbia Triathlon, Columbia Maryland, will be set off with a NEW precedent setting addition.  The weekend events will begin with the opportunity to join TOP medical experts in the field of sports science and medicine to receive the most recent and cutting edge information on MEDICAL MANAGEMENT OF THE ENDURANCE ATHLETE. Sponsored by The Columbia Triathlon Association and Howard County General Hospital, Affiliate of Johns Hopkins Hospital, We invite medical professionals and interested athletes in the field of sports medicine, to attend this exciting half day conference. Category 1 CME credits will be available. Interested attendees will also have the opportunity to be entered in a random drawing for the premium prize of race entry into selected CTA sponsored events.

Conference goal: MOTIVATE, EDUCATE & DISSEMINATE the latest in sports medicine & sports science to medical professionals and those interested in sports medicine.
The endurance athlete is identified as a special needs individual, requiring unique medical treatment and management strategies, regardless if, training, racing or in active recovery.   It is our goal to provide the required education and information that will identify those special needs, to facilitate proper diagnosis & appropriate medical care, and prescribed prevention strategies. It is CTA’s gold standard to always provide safe well organized events. To that end, it is our commitment, to provide the necessary information and education to begin to establish standardized medical tent treatment protocols providing safe effective care of the endurance athlete engaged in competition.
 
This symposium brings together an elite group of medical professionals dedicated to providing safe effective medical care of the endurance athlete. The conference will be a prelude to an exciting race weekend at the Columbia Triathlon.
