Presently, the Mid-Atlantic region has sixteen participating
and active triathlon clubs registered with the national office. For a complete listing of the clubs, visit
http://www.lin-mark.com/usatclubsma.htm. During 2002, we hope to expand both the
number of clubs and the number of club-related activities. We also want to provide a means by which
clubs can compete against one another.
In fact, we will hold our inaugural club championship race at the
Columbia Triathlon on May 19, 2002.
This race will also serve as a qualifying event for the USAT National
Club Championship to be held later in the season. For more information and to
register for this race, visit
www.tricolumbia.org/columbia.htm.
In order to better serve our regional clubs and their
members, we are organizing a regional club board consisting of one member from
each current club who will then elect a board president and vice-president. The group will communicate by email and its
efforts will be aimed toward improving our regional club system. If you wish to serve on this board and are a
current regional club member, please contact Linda Toretsky, Regional Club
Coordinator, at
lin-mark@lin-mark.com.
The Tri-State Multisport Association will be presenting a
one-day triathlon technique clinic on March 23, 2002 at Germantown Academy in
Fort Washington, PA. The cost of the
camp is $95 for Tri-State Multisport members and $125 for all others. This includes all training sessions and
lectures, handouts, swim stroke video analysis, breakfast, lunch and
snacks. For more information, visit
www.tristatemultisport.org.
