I EAT THEIR DUST
Nutrition for Our Spirit
by Alisa Wright Colopy, MA, MPH
As a triathlete and a Triathlon Youth Coach, I am always immersed in conversations about nutrition to improve performance. What does an athlete eat to train more effectively, race faster and recover quicker? What nutrition bar is the best to help the competitor meet or beat their race personal best? As I look at all the eager young faces, looking at me, searching for answers that not only will feed their minds but their bodies, all I can say is .. I eat their dust.

MRS. T'S RACE FILLING QUICKLY
For those
of you planning to race the popular Mrs. T's Chicago Triathlon (August 25),
please note that there are only 1,600 slots remaining for the race. That might
sound like plenty of room, but the race accepts more than 6,300 people, meaning it's already over two-thirds
full.
Registration
for the race opened in mid-January and is expected to fill sometime in early
April, 30-45 days earlier than it did last year.
The race
is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.
To celebrate 20 years of successful racing, the prize purse has been
expanded from $40,000 to $50,000, the pro awards have been moved to right after
the finish of the pro race, and more food and a new beer will be offered at the
post-race party.
Online registration and more information can be found at http://www.caprievents.com.
