On January 25th, Siemens AG announced a definitive agreement to acquire UGS and to operate it as a division of the Siemens Automation and Drives (A&D) group. This is a pioneering move that will create the first supplier for the manufacturing and process industries able to provide an end-to-end software and hardware portfolio encompassing the complete lifecycle of products and production facilities. Our combined portfolios will offer what we call “Totally Integrated Automation” – technology solutions that will help customers attain new levels of innovation, speed, quality and cost efficiency in their product development and manufacturing processes.
