Vehicle Details: The 2012 Scion iQ
Small car, big features: see what makes the iQ a smart choice.

The 2012 Scion iQ is a smarter alternative to the “smart” small car. With an abundance of standard amenities and safety equipment, the iQ is only small in stature. The iQ delivers the economy of a hybrid without the hybrid price.
The 2012 Scion iQ is the world’s smallest four-seat vehicle and starts at an affordable MSRP of only $15,265. At 10 feet long, the iQ is easy to park and fun to drive. It also comes standard with the Scion Drive Monitor, which displays average fuel economy and exterior temperature, and also utilizes an ECO-drive indicator to help maximize fuel efficiency. Also standard is a leather-wrapped steering wheel with red stitching and steering wheel-mounted controls for the audio system.
Speaking of the audio system, the iQ comes standard with an impressive 160-watt Pioneer AM/FM/CD unit. Bluetooth connectivity, HD Radio and iPod®/USB connectivity are also standard. For those who want to maximize their listening pleasure, a 200-watt Pioneer system is available and includes a 5.8-inch LCD touch-screen display with iTunes tagging, Pandora Internet Radio and six RCA outputs. To ensure you never get lost, opt for a Scion Navigation audio system (with DVD player) and seven-inch touch-screen LCD display. Regardless of which audio option you choose, you’ll get Scion Sound Processing with three pre-set equalizer settings and speed-sensitive audio control.
The 2012 iQ is powered by a 1.3-liter engine that produces a punchy 94 hp and 89 lb/ft of torque (more than the smart fortwo) through a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) with dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i). The iQ achieves an impressive 36 mpg city, 37 mpg highway EPA-estimated fuel economy rating.
The petite iQ is big on safety. It comes standard with the STAR Safety System, which incorporates Vehicle Stability Control, Traction Control, Anti-Lock Brake System with Brake Assist and Electronic Brake-Force Distribution, and Smart Stop technology. The iQ also has an industry-leading 11 airbags, including the first rear-window airbag, for maximum protection.
In addition to its three-year/36,000-mile Comprehensive Warranty and five-year/60,000-mile Powertrain Warranty, the iQ comes with the Scion Service Boost, which covers all routine maintenance for the first two years or 25,000 miles and includes three years of Roadside Assistance.
When speaking about the iQ, Scion Vice President Jack Hollis stated that it “will define the premium micro-subcompact segment as the choice for new urbanites who want clever transportation without a sacrifice in style or new features.” The automotive media has already taken notice of the combination of amenities and fuel efficiency: kiplinger.com has put the iQ on its “Best Cars 2012” list and named it “Most Fuel Efficient Car under $20,000”.
Stop in today to see why the iQ is smarter than the competition.
