Detroit’s Super Bowl XL Guests Are Invited to Enjoy ALL of Michigan

Everyone expects Detroit to be a great host for the Super Bowl extravaganza leading up to the big game on February 5, 2006.  To assure a memorable experience, events and activities are being planned across the entire state during the weekend prior to the game, January 26-31, 2006, inviting guests to experience ALL of Michigan.

SUPER NORTH WEEKEND hopes to attract media exposure as well as provide interesting and entertaining venues for many visitors to Michigan.  It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity to tell the world what makes Michigan a great place in which to live, work and play.  “The reaction from communities and businesses across the state has been great”, notes Joe Breidenstein of Walloon Lake, Event Coordinator, “I’m sure we’ll have a wide array of events – large & small – throughout the state.  Everyone is eager to showcase their area or product.”

Events being considered for inclusion in SUPER NORTH WEEKEND are a Blues vs. Reds (Dems vs. GOP) flag football game in Traverse City, snowmobile activities for the entire family hosted at Ranch Rudolf by the International Snowmobile Manufacturer’s Association, a world record breaking Snowball Fight at Castle Farms near Charlevoix to qualify for listing in the Guinness Book of World Records, a family-oriented Ice Fest in Coldwater, snowmobile activities in Sault Ste. Marie with many opportunities for whole family participation, a special array of snow activities for women at Crystal Mountain Resort near Thompsonville, and many other special events to showcase the diversity of history, culture and recreation in Michigan.

Travel Talk Radio, which broadcasts worldwide via the Internet, is planning to broadcast live all week from a bus as it tours Michigan from event to event.  Many of the events are planned as charity fundraisers.  This weekend's events will be a win-win for everyone.  Plan to join the fun, celebrate ALL Michigan has to offer, and get ready for the big game!

SUPER NORTH WEEKEND events and activities will be listed and described at
www.springtimesplendor.com.  Travel Michigan, a sponsor of the Detroit Super Bowl XL Host Committee, will list the events at michigan.org, and its web site has been linked to the Detroit Super Bowl XL Host Committee web site, www.sbxl.org, which is expected to receive over a million hits.  More information can be obtained by calling 231-535-2227.
