03-26-04 – The average statewide regular unleaded gasoline price increased to $1.60 in January 2004 and then to $1.68 in February 2004. Many media sources are currently reporting that the average nationwide gas price may rise to between $2.00 and $3.00 per gallon later this year.
01-28-04 – Average statewide regular unleaded gasoline prices, as reported by AAA Michigan, were $1.51 in November 2003 and $1.46 in December 2003. Gasoline prices were higher each month in 2003, January through December, than they were during the same months last year.
11-21-03 – The average statewide regular unleaded gasoline price increased to $1.70 in September and then decreased to $1.55 in October. So far this year gas has cost more every month of the year as compared to the same month last year.
10-10-03 – The average statewide regular unleaded gasoline price increased substantially to $1.65 in August, as was predicted last month.
08-28-03 – Average statewide regular unleaded gasoline prices declined slightly to $1.54 per gallon in July 2003. However, preliminary average gasoline price estimates indicate that the cost of fuel in August will be greater than $1.60, due to the recent blackout and pipeline supply problems.
07-31-03 – June 2003 saw a slight increase in the average statewide regular unleaded gasoline price to $1.56 per gallon.
07-03-03 – The average statewide regular unleaded gasoline price increased slightly to $1.49 in May 2003.
06-11-03 – April 2003 saw a substantial drop in the average statewide price of regular unleaded gasoline in Michigan, which decreased to only $1.46, down from $1.70 in March. Lower-priced gasoline makes it more attractive for travelers to drive versus fly to their vacation destinations.
05-02-03 – Average statewide regular unleaded gasoline prices increased to $1.70 per gallon in March 2003, the highest level since September 2001.
03-24-03 – Gas prices rose to an average of $1.50 in January 2003 and $1.67 in February 2003. February's statewide average gasoline price was the highest of any month since September 2001 when it reached $1.73
02-07-03 – The average statewide regular unleaded gasoline price dropped to $1.33 in December 2002.
