Michigan’s Opportunities and Challenges: MSU Faculty Perspectives In late November 2002, Michigan State University sent the following materials to then Governor-Elect Jennifer Granholm’s transition team. The editors of Michigan Tourism Business are pleased to be able to share these papers with you, since many of them relate to issues faced by Michigan’s tourism industry. Following is the text that was included in the cover letter that was mailed to Governor Granholm, and below that are links to each of the papers (in PDF format—requiring Adobe Acrobat). “Founded in 1855 as the nation's first land-grant institution, Michigan State University has a proud tradition of public service to the citizens of Michigan, the nation, and the world.
