This is the second new chart that we have added to this second issue of Michigan Tourism Business.  Due to the impact precipitation has on many tourist activities and travel plans, the editors thought you might find it to be a useful addition.  So far in 2002, we have experienced a drier-than-normal January, significantly wetter February and April, and a March with near normal precipitation.

April and May 2002 were also wetter than normal, however, they were both significantly drier than the same months in 2001.  Michigan received extremely lower amounts of rain in June 2002 than is normal for the month, causing severe problems for many farmers in the state.
