Introduction to MTVTA

In conjunction with Michigan Virtual University (MVU) and the Michigan Department of Career Development (MDCD), the Michigan State University Tourism Resource Center and the Department of Park, Recreation & Tourism Resources are developing five prepaid specialized tourism and hospitality skills training courses which will be available online through the new Michigan Tourism Virtual Training Academy.

The Academy's portal web site and the specialized courses are currently under development; however, in the meantime we are pleased to announce that an extensive catalog of online training resources may be accessed--at no cost to you--through the BeeFreeway icon link at
TalentFreeway.org.

We invite Michigan small businesses and non-profit organizations with 25 full-time employees or fewer to take advantage of over 1,300 existing online skills development training modules at no charge.

The courses were developed by two of the leading companies in online education and represent the finest training available on the Internet today. In addition, BeeFreeway is designed to maximize training benefits in a business environment; with the materials organized in small segments called modules that can be completed by employees during down-time or between tasks.

BeeFreeway courses focus on two crucial skill-sets: Information Technology Development and Business and Professional Development. Michigan small business employees are welcome to begin browsing the catalog and start training today.

BeeFreeway (Business E-Education Freeway) was created by the MDCD and MVU in response to small businesses critical need for efficient, effective training. Michigan State University recognizes that Michigan businesses continued viability in an increasingly competitive marketplace depends on employers' and employees' access to training.
