Survey Says...

In the February edition, readers completed our Insight Survey concerning whether they had determined the impact of network downtime to their business. We also asked if respondents were looking to deploy and Intrusion Detection or Intrusion Prevention System. Here are the results:

- 65.8% of respondents had determined the impact of downtime to their business, with the majority being very concerned with their findings.
- Nearly 24% had not determined the impact of downtime, but were concerned.
- 5% had not determined impact and were not concerned.
- The remaining 5% choose to not share their results with us.
- 60% are deploying either an IDS or IPS within the next 3 –18 months, with the majority striving to protect their network within the next 3-6 months.
- 40% are not looking to deploy additional IDS or IPS, because 27% of claimed that they had already fully deployed these technologies.

Fill out the survey in this issue and then visit this column in the next edition to hear what your peers plans are for IDS and IPS technologies.
