Take Time for Tea

There are many reasons for taking time out of your day for a soothing cup of tea. In addition to tea time serving as a little “me time,” tea is chock full of antioxidants called polyphenols that have been shown to help improve heart health, reduce cancer risk, and even strengthen bones. Drinking tea every day can actually work alongside your daily dose of Adora Calcium to help improve bone health! But, beware of combining the two at the same time. Tea contains oxalic acid that can bind with some of the calcium preventing it from being absorbed. Sipping your tea with breakfast, and taking your calcium a few hours later, will give your bones the biggest boost. In addition, research has shown that adding milk or cream may block some of tea’s antioxidant activity. Instead, add honey, lemon, or a bit of sweetener to give your tea some extra zing.
