Brenda- God Loves 5 children even more than she ever could
Hi, my name is Brenda. When I was in third grade I accepted the Lord as my Savior. I had a loving Christian family and I was with my grandmother at her church the day the Holy Spirit moved me.
As I grew up I stayed close to the Lord, but in my college days fell away. I later married and had two beautiful children. My husband and I took them to church and we went through the motions but we didn’t have that CONNECT.
In ’96 my husband was diagnosed with colon cancer. In ’98 he passed away. All during those 21 months my faith in Christ grew. I felt his presence with us. My children began to pray and show a faith I never knew they had. They laid hands on their Dad and let him see Christ through them. It was a very hard time in all of our lives - but a very joyous time in praising God as well.
Shortly after my husband’s death I met a man who’d lost his wife to ovarian cancer in ’97. We met through someone at church. He and his wife had three beautiful children. After a short dating period God turned us to each other and through the common losses we’d all suffered fell in love. God blessed us with the ability to bring together all five of these young children and bring love and laughter to them again. Through all of this time I know God carried me. During the times I cried, “Lord, I love this man but Lord “FIVE” children??? - he’d calm me and say “Lean on me and I will guide you through. I love these children more than you ever could”.
He’s certainly showered his blessings upon us. The children get along beautifully. My husband is a loving, strong Christian man and we strive daily to be closer to Christ and do things to model Christ to our children.
Through all the heartache, tears and confusion God’s love has been constant!
