Wondering what you can do to help stop global warming? Choose a dealership that uses only PPG Waterborne Paint Systems and help lower your carbon footprint. That dealership is Texas Toyota.
By choosing one of our dealerships for a repair involving a paint job, even if only for a minor touch up, you can feel confident that by making this choice, you are also making a choice to help save the environment. Our body shops use only PPG Aquabase® Plus and Envirobase® High Performance paint, the world's first waterborne paint systems.
Unlike us, most body shops use traditional solvent-based paint systems, where color match is achieved through a combination of many things: pigment, solvent type and additives such as toners or hardeners - all of which contain high levels of VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds). VOCs are chemicals that evaporate easily at room temperature and are emitted by a wide array of products including paints, lacquers and paint strippers. The term "organic" indicates that the compounds contain carbon.
In PPG's waterborne systems, the solvent is always the same: clean, natural water. With water as its base, PPG's waterborne systems greatly reduce the amount of VOCs emitted into the environment.
PPG water-based systems incorporate sophisticated latex particles that cling together when we want them to and separate easily when necessary. By incorporating two components to the basecoat toner system, the systems save on material usage by allowing direct application to a sanded e-coat in a single visit - with no need for clearcoating.
Doing what is right for our environment doesn't have to mean sacrificing quality. Ask any shop using PPG Aquabase® Plus and Envirobase® High Performance paint. They'll tell you all about the superior color match PPG's premium waterborne systems offer. Combine the benefit of an exact match to your auto's original OEM color, with lower VOC emissions and therefore, a lower carbon footprint, and everyone wins when you go green.
