Symantec is deeply committed to stopping cybercrime and raising public awareness of the steps every person, family, and organization can take to stay safe online. Our efforts include outreach and education, research, online tools, and public policy advocacy:

  • Norton Online Family—A free service that gives parents the interactive tools they need to connect to their children’s online lives and start a dialogue about what their children see, learn, and do online.
  • Internet BLK MKT Campaign and Video Series—Exhibits and videos that invite the public to learn how the online criminal marketplace operates.
  • Global Intelligence Network™—Symantec’s proprietary system to capture worldwide security intelligence and enable the company to deliver protection based on emerging trends in attacks, malicious code activity, phishing, and spam.
  • Policy Development—Symantec frequently communicates with national parliaments and policy makers on legislation via written submissions and testimony.
In FY10, Symantec launched worldwide employee privacy awareness training in six languages, with a 95+ percent completion rate.
