Chairman's Corner
Dear Fellow Republicans,

In January, the Santa Clara County Republican Party elected new leadership and we are eager to share our goals and results to date.  This is the first issue of eInsight, our members’ online newsletter, which will be our primary channel for communicating with Silicon Valley Republicans.  Please share it with your friends and encourage them to become a member so they will regularly receive their own copy.

Our primary goal, at the county level, is to elect Republicans to office.  This is the most effective way for us to improve Republican performance statewide and nationally.  We have placed a renewed emphasis on increasing GOP voter registration in Santa Clara County and in building an infrastructure to identify, develop and support GOP candidates for local offices.

Here’s what we’ve done to date:
o  Developed a “community team” organizational structure to strengthen grassroots precinct organizations.  We divided Santa Clara County into 25 districts (each of the 15 cities plus the 10 city council districts in San Jose), each with its own community leader(s) who will recruit and organize precinct captains and volunteers.  Fifteen of these 25 communities are now active with more coming on line in the near term.  If you would like to have a leadership or other role, contact us!  Many opportunities are available.
o   We’ve identified over 20 festivals in the county at which we will have a voter registration booth.  This will both increase our number of registered voters and increase our visibility in the community.
o   Developed a communications strategy that will improve our volunteer outreach and provide consistent communication with county Republicans.  This newsletter is only one example of our renewed emphasis on communication.
o  Raised our visibility and refreshed our relationship with the California GOP.  They have demonstrated their confidence in the Santa Clara County GOP in a tangible way – they have provided the funding for us to hire a paid Executive Director, who came on board May 1.

While much has been accomplished, there is much more to be done.  We need your support and involvement to make the Republican Party the dominant party in Silicon Valley.  Your membership and donations will greatly help our efforts to increase GOP voter registration in the county.  The Republican Party infrastructure in Santa Clara County is growing rapidly.  If you want to be part of it, please contact us.  Your help will make a difference.

I’m excited about what we have done already and about the opportunities to grow the GOP in Silicon Valley.  Please join us in making this a reality!

Sincerely,
Keen Butcher
Chairman, Santa Clara County Republican Party
