It may be summertime, but change certainly hasn’t taken a vacation.  As fall arrives, you’ll be seeing new faces in leadership roles at SVgop. 

First, Kim Theis has replaced Carol Morrison as Executive Director.  When Carol took the job some two years ago, we agreed that it was a temporary position for her.  We’re very lucky – and I’m deeply grateful – that she stayed as long as she did.

Next, I will be stepping down after four great years as Chairman of the SVgop.

As residents of Santa Clara County, you may be wondering what your elected congress members are doing to constructively and urgently address the energy crisis.  With the price of gasoline well over $4.00 all over the Bay Area, it is reasonable to expect that our elected representatives would be hard at work developing constructive solutions that would result in short term reductions in energy costs and long term independence from fossil fuels and, in particular, foreign oil. 

When your liberal friends start complaining about the high price of energy but can offer no solutions other than “drive less” and “don’t expect to keep your thermostat at a comfortable setting”, share these talking points with them….
 

While the media is zeroing in on the battle heating up between McCain and Obama, our Victory ’08 campaign focus is much broader.  Volunteering through SVGOP is a one-stop campaign shop to help elect Republicans from the top of the ticket to the bottom….from president of the US to members of our local school boards.  

With the critical November election just three months away, the Santa Clara County Republican Party welcomes fresh troops!  Our new Executive Director, Kim Theis, and our new Chairman, Steve Mullen, bring enthusiasm, a can-do attitude, and a determination to impact local politics.
