In 2001, the Head Office facilities and Parts Distribution Centre of TOYOTA CANADA INC. (TCI), both located in Toronto, Ontario were registered to the prestigious, internationally recognized ISO 14001 Environmental Standard, making it the first administrative facility in the Toyota Global network to attain such an honour. Since then, all of TCI's facilities have also been registered.
TCI has assessed the environmental impact of its business practices, and then addressed those impacts through the establishment of a formalized Environmental Management System (EMS) that meets the ISO 14001 requirements.
Environmental efforts are aligned with Toyota Motor Corporation's Earth Charter, which provides global directives and action plans for environmental improvement in all Toyota companies world-wide.
TCI's Environmental Management System is guided by the principles contained in our Environmental Policy. This Policy outlines the key items to be addressed and the framework of the EMS. To view the contents of the policy in a separate browser window, click here.
The remainder of the EMS is developed to ensure the Environmental Policy is supported and implemented strategically throughout the organization.
