Undeliverable Emails Subtracted from Email Job

Subscribers known to be undeliverable will not be sent to the mailer and are automatically substracted from the mail job. Undeliverable addresses include emails that have been returned to the Bounce Manager and were classified as "bad addresses".

This change was made to prevent the repeated delivery of email to email addresses that are invalid or are no longer in use. By subtracting these addresses automatically from mailings we are reducing the volume of unnecessary email flooding ISP and corporate mail servers. In addition, this makes the use of email within your account more efficient - especially when sending quantities of email that go above the number included with your account plan.

Once an email address is returned as a "bad address", it is marked as an "excluded". To add these addresses back to your mailing list, use the Bounce Manager or the Search and Manage tool to edit the subscriber record. At this time you can make any necessary changes to the email address to fix it. After you save the subscriber record, the email address will no longer be excluded and will again be part of future mailings.

The number of undeliverable addresses is indicated on the Email Confirmation page which is displayed after the Preview screen. This number is recalculated each time you initiate a mailing. The actual number of emails sent and recorded in the billing system is computed by subtracting the number of undeliverable addresses from the total number of addresses selected for the mailing.
