The Ford F-150 is the best selling pickup truck and Ford intends to keep it out in front. The next generation F-150 is new from the frame up and inside out, and features improved power, efficiency and utility.
The 2009 Ford F-150 has a new high-strength, lighter-weight chassis that allows this tough truck to deliver the goods. The exceptionally strong, but fundamentally lightweight frame ensures greater rigidity and increased safety, earning the F-150 top honors when it comes to crash test ratings.
Ford's newest F-150 is the first in the segment to offer AdvanceTrac with RSC (Roll Stability Control). For surefooted trailering, Ford has included an advanced Trailer Sway Control system with a rearview camera and an Integrated Trailer Brake Controller system.
The interior of Ford's new F-150 SuperCrew features improved cargo and personal space, due to an additional six-inches in length. Additional leg and storage space is enhanced by a flat loading floor and easy flip and fold second row seats. In all, the F-150 SuperCrew features a class-leading 57.6 cubic feet of space behind the front seats.
Today’s pickup truck is nearly a customized vehicle since owners have very specific jobs for their trusty trucks. Ford is offering the largest selection of wheels in the segment with 13 choices across the F-150 lineup, from the hard-working XL to the high-end Lariat and King Ranch trims.
2009 marks the introduction of the F-150 luxury Platinum series. With an elegant satin chrome grille, 10-way adjustable stitched-leather captains’ chairs, Lacrosse Ash wood-grain and brushed aluminum accents and panels and 16-spoke, 20-inch polished aluminum wheels, the Platinum series gives new meaning to “king of the road.”
The 2009 F-150 features your choice of three V8 engines controlled by a four-speed or more fuel-efficient six-speed automatic transmission. The powerful 5.4-liter, Triton V8 features improved horsepower and torque as well as E85 ethanol fuel capability. Ford’s new 4.6-liter V8 lowers emissions and features increased horsepower during towing through improved fuel flow into the combustion chamber. Ford’s base 4.6-liter, two-valve V8 delivers greater horsepower with similar fuel economy as the previous model’s V6.
What would today’s pickup be without technology? Ford’s exclusive SYNC system is the result of a collaboration with Microsoft, SIRIUS and Sony, and acts as a voice-activated, hands-free, integrated communications and entertainment control mechanism. For the 2009 model year, SYNC adds 911 Assist for safety and the self-diagnosing Vehicle Health Report generator. If you specify the voice activated navigation option for your F-150, you get the real-time traffic, weather conditions and local fuel price information from the SIRIUS Travel Link system. The F-150 can be equipped with a Sony high-end audio system that puts out 700 watts of power with 5.1-surround sound feeding 10 Sony speakers.
