In this issue...
May 12th Update: This issue has now been closed for editing. Our Aboriginal Youth writing team is adding more photos, hyperlinks, and content into the special issue published March 24th. The special issue highlighted the Internet and Communications Technology (ICT) 2008 Summit and the 2010 Business Summit, both held in Vancouver in February. The theme of this year's ICT 2008 conference was: Collaboration and Digital Literacy. RedWAY writers wrote six ICT 2008 Summit articles: "Webcasting 101 - Learning New Skills to Connect Communities", "ICT 2008 Survey/Contest Responses", "My Favourite Seminars", "Photo Journal of ICT 2008" and "Glimpse of Community Projects Through Videos". Those articles are currently under construction...they're getting enhanced by our Youth team to include more pictures, active hyperlinks and metatags. This will increase their search engine results - making it easier for web surfers from around the world to find information about this year's ICT Summit.
Plus, we'll be adding two new articles, including the "E-zines Made Easy" PowerPoint presentation by RedWAY Team Members Adele and Kristin. It's important to share insights with others looking to increase their marketing and communication effectiveness - both internally and externally - to attract and engage Aboriginal Youth. Many socially responsible companies and organizations are looking to better track results, save printing costs and extend the reach and life of their ads by shifting from print advertising (magazines, newspapers) to direct, on-line advertising (electronic magazines and webpages)...so we'll share our tips about easy on-line publishing. We're still looking for your feedback to include in this issue! Visit the First Nations Technology Conference website www.fntc.info and the ICT 2008 Summit website http://www.ictsummit.ca/ for a refresher about topics, resources and speakers. Did you attend the conference? Did you watch the webcasts? How did this year's conference increase collaboration or use of ICT? Send your comments to events(at)spiritlinking(dot)com , then check back after the May long weekend to see the improved version!
Have a safe and healthy May long weekend!
