REPRESENT URBAN ABORIGINAL YOUTH ISSUES!

JOIN THIS COUNCIL!

The Aboriginal Youth Advisory Council will guide the RedWAY. (Website for Aboriginal Youth) initiative.

We will create a one-stop website for all resources available to help our Urban Native Youth, who are either living here or coming to live in the Lower Mainland areas. This project includes designing, writing content for and helping to build contacts for our cool website, and gathering articles for an electronic magazine…an E-Zine.

As a Youth Advisory Council (YAC) member you will learn about and be involved in the research aspect, as well as have having an integral part of the development of this project.  In particular, we're looking for your contribution from the beginning to the look and content of the entire website.   We need your input to make this project relevant to our Youth.

WHO: Aboriginal Youth ages 15-30 from various walks of life.

WHAT: For the Youth Advisory Council, which is developing and helping to research for a new website on the resources and opportunities available for Urban Aboriginal Youth.

WHEN: Starting January 6, 2004 to March 31, 2004.
Meeting for weekly or bi-weekly meetings or conference calls.

WHERE: First Nations Employment Society & Native Education Centre

WHY:
Ø     Your input will be driving the project.
Ø     Your Portfolio and Project Contributions will be posted on the site.
Ø     You can have a direct link to your own site if you have one.
Ø     Earn a reference letter from FNES for your records and resume.
Ø      Qualify for a monthly $100 honorarium.
Ø      Receive a monthly 1-zone bus pass.
Ø      Because this site represents YOUR VOICE.

Contact Sienna MacMillan or Valerie Monkman at the First Nations Employment Centre at (604) 605-8901 or email us: sienna@redwaybc.ca if you’re interested or know someone who would make a great Council member!
